  • ASRC Federal Field Services, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is seeking a Deputy Fire Chief in support of our Vance AFB Base Operations Support Contract located in Enid, Oklahoma.

    Responsibilities:

    • The primary purpose of the Deputy Fire Chief position is to manage the overarching aspects of the Fire & Emergency Services under the direction of the Installation Fire Chief (IFC).

    • Perform the duties and responsibilities of the IFC in absence of the IFC.

    • Providing managerial guidance, oversight, and supervision of all F&ES activities.

    • Develop and implement efficient processes to accomplish outputs without sacrificing high quality standards. Ensure work performance IAW all applicable standards and guidelines.

    • As Deputy Fire Chief, participates in all aspects of the administration and planning of a comprehensive fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue program at the installation.

    • Responsible for overall direction of the activities of the training, fire prevention, and operations programs and operation of the communications center. Reviews plans, schedules, and other management activities of subordinate chief officers, ensuring that all programs are fully functional and operating at maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Responsible for review of base plans, policies, strategy, tactics, and procedures for fire suppression and prevention to ensure compliance with current and new national consensus standards, National Fire Codes, uniform building codes, Code of Federal Regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, and environmental laws and regulations as they apply to fire protection.

    • Reviews new regulations or procedures and disseminates information to subordinates, assuring that such procedures are implemented; assures that station logs and other records pertinent to reports, activities, drills, inspections, responses, fires, etc., are maintained properly and submitted within prescribed time limits utilizing the FES-IMS.

    • Recommends changes to established standards of performance, operations, work force, and equipment required to meet the many variables associated with the assessments of the various functions of the fire protection flight.

    • Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the F&ES and recommends changes to the IFC. Prepares, executes, and schedules assignments of assistant chiefs, and through them assigned personnel to stations, duties, and equipment.

    • Manage the Emergency Communications Center and personnel.

    • Participates as the F&ES Emergency Operations Center (EOC) representative during Wing Inspection Team (WIT) level exercises.

    • Conducts no-notice and pre-briefed fire drills.

    • Conducts audits in FES-IMS to validate training and operational compliance.

    • Maintains current knowledge of the base, its structures, and all systems related to fire protection.

    • Conducts interviews and documentation for potential new employees.

    • Evaluates personnel's performance and reports information to the Fire Chief.

    • May Observe or perform disciplinary functions for the F&ES.

    Requirements :

    Mandatory Requirements:

    • 3 years' experience as an Assistant Fire Chief

    • 11 years' experience in Fire Service

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

    • The ability to respond to the installation in the event of an emergency operations center activation after hours.

    Certifications Required Prior to Employment:

    • Airport Firefighter, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Fire Officer IV, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Fire Instructor II, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Fire Inspector II, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • HazMat Incident Commander, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Incident Safety Officer, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • National Registry and Oklahoma state Emergency Medical Responder or National Registry and Oklahoma State Emergency Medical Technician

    • Incident Command System (ICS) 300

    • Incident Command System (ICS) 400

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Health and Safety Officer, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board.

    • Fire Inspector III, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Fire Instructor III, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)

    • Telecommunicator I and II, accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board)
