    Position Summary:

    The Group Rooms and Reservation Coordinator oversees the efficient operation of the reservations department in selling of guest rooms to accommodate guest needs. This person will be responsible for processing and handling group rooming lists and reservation requests, analyzing room inventory, and help with staffing needs of the front desk. This position requires individuals with a keen attention to detail, a strong dedication to customer service, and a positive and friendly attitude.

    This is a seasonal role with estimated employment dates of March-September.

    This is a remote position.

    Essential Functions:

    • Process and handle group rooming lists and reservation requests using reservations system

    • Monitor and analyze rooms inventory and increase average rate

    • Help with staffing needs at the front desk and train agents on the operations of the reservation department

    • Attend meetings to support business operations

    • Calculate and prepare room pick-up reports

    • Assist in the development and revision of forecasts

    • Initiate and prepare reports as required

    • Handle all reservations aspects of a group, monitor room block, rooming lists, VIP and other accommodations, and client correspondence relating to reservations

    • Support revenue management strategies

    • Implement and support pricing strategies yield and revenue management best practices

    • Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule

    • Acquire basic knowledge of property structure/layout and how departments interact

    • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies and energy

    • Report to work on time and in complete uniform

    • Other duties as assigned

    Status and Scope:

    • Reports to Director of Sales and Marketing

    • Position requires a strong customer service focus, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude

    • Must be able to work efficiently - prepared to help wherever needed

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as fluency in written and spoken English language

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. College Degree preferred

    • Two years with travel industry reservations system and hotel property management systems mandatory

    • Ability to manage and work with outside groups and agencies

    • Excellent organizational skills

    • Ability to work well under pressure

    • Proficiency in MS Office programs; experience with Delphi (in-house sales system) preferred

    Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

    Lifting Requirements:

    MEDIUM - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
