    Description:

    University in St. Paul is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee campus operations in all aspects within facilities services, including the management of facilities personnel, renovation projects, equipment repairs, construction projects and budgeting. This will be a mix of performing hands-on maintenance tasks and leading individuals on the maintenance team, including coordinating with vendors.

    • Oversee maintenance operations in University water systems, electrical power systems, mechanical systems

    • Ensure maintenance team is performing up to University standards, check quality, hiring, teaching techs tasks as needed

    • Oversee Siemens building automation systems, delegate as needed

    • Assist with annual budgets, manage and direct vendors, and work directly with electrical, water, and gas utility companies

    • 24/7 availability for emergency calls (rare)

    • On-call emergencies will vary, typically once per month but will be a bit more once the winter hits.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • Chief B, Steam Boilers License (Required)

    • Higher education related to facility maintenance

    • 4+ years of planning and directing staff and operations

    • Experience with a/c, refrigeration systems
